Dr. Dan MelamedHendersonville
A former software employee, Dr. Melamed traded in his years of staring at a computer for a doctorate from Meharry Medical College and a future helping people get the best dental care possible. When he’s not staying up to date on the latest dental technology in order to provide cutting edge dental solutions, he spends his time watching college basketball, managing his fantasy football league, and spending time with his wife and little boys.
Dr. Ryan Minyard Murfreesboro
Originally from Fresno, CA, Dr. Minyard is a graduate of the University of the Pacific where he played college soccer and later received his Doctorate in Dentistry. After practicing dentistry on the West Coast Dr. Minyard moved to the Nashville area in 1994 where he now lives with his wife and their three kids. An avid soccer player, Dr. Minyard continues to play in local recreational leagues here in Tennessee.
Dr. Himanshu PatelDonelson
Dr. Patel, a San Jose native, received his B.S. from the University of California, Davis and his D.M.D. from Temple University. After graduation, he worked for a private practice in Philadelphia before relocating to Nashville with his wife, who works at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. In addition to spending time with friends and family, Dr. Patel stays active by hiking regularly and playing sports for fun.
Dr. Johnny Pearce Bellevue
Dr. Pearce grew up in Memphis, TN. He is a 1984 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry. After graduation, Dr. Pearce was in private practice for 29 years, with the majority of his practice focused on implant and restorative dentistry. Dr. Pearce has been married for 32 years and has 3 children. He is an avid San Francisco 49er's and Ole Miss football fan.
Dr. Garnett Jack Donelson
After graduating from the University of Louisville Dental School in 2011, Dr. Jack joined Tri Counties Dental in Lewisburg, TN where he worked for 5 years. He takes pride in his passion for dentistry and strives to provide world-class care for his patients. Outside of the office, Dr. Jack is an assistant coach and team manager for Nashville United U16 soccer. He loves spending time with his wife and three children who all share his love for soccer, and he’s also very involved at the Schrader Lace Church of Christ and the Capital City Dental Society of Middle Tennessee.
Dr. Keith Van Benthuysen Brentwood
Dr. Van Benthuysen received his B.A. with honors from the Citadel and his D.M.D. from the University of Florida. He began his dental career in the U.S. Army before entering into private practice in Florida more than two decades ago. Since joining the Embassy Dental family in 2006, he now lives in Franklin, TN, with his wife Beverly and their young son.
Dr. Joel VeitscheggerCool Springs
After growing up in Bowling Green, Ky. and earning undergraduate degrees in Music and Religious Studies at Western Kentucky University, Dr. Veitschegger attended the University of Kentucky where he earned his D.M.D. He spent three years practicing dentistry while in Northern Maine with his wife and their Norwich Terrier, Onus, before moving back to the South to be near family and friends.
Dr. Mark “Jay” Ruark II Hillsboro Village
Born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky and raised in Cape Girardeau, MO, Dr. Ruark completed his undergrad at Murray State University. He received his DMD at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Dr. Ruark moved to New Orleans after graduation where he practiced in both New Orleans and Baton Rouge, until 2012 when he moved to middle Tennessee. Dr. Ruark currently resides in Nashville. When not practicing dentistry, he enjoys spending time with his 4-year-old-son, Payton, and girlfriend, Candice. He also enjoys working out and describes himself as an “avid sports nut.” He loves Peyton Manning and the Broncos, Kentucky college football and basketball, as well as the St. Louis Cardinals.
Dr. Sagar Shah, DDS Bellevue, Hillsboro Village
Dr. Shah earned his B.S. degree at Vanderbilt University before completing his Doctor of Dental Surgery at New York University College of Dentistry in 2012. He holds the dentist-patient relationship to the highest standard and feels that it is the most gratifying part of dentistry for him! When not practicing, Dr. Shah is an avid reader and enjoys learning about different subject matters, along with those relating to oral health.
Dr. Robbie Harris
Dr. Harris is a Texas native and a Board Eligible Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He attended the University of Oklahoma at Norman for his undergraduate studies, where he played football for the Sooners. In 2011, he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston where he was elected into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honor society. He then entered his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN and completed his training in June 2015, serving as Chief Resident in his final year. He has co-authored multiple professional publications and is certified in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Advanced Trauma Life Support. He has a servant’s heart and is an avid outdoorsman. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, college athletics, golf, and playing the guitar.
Dr. David Wyatt
Dr. Wyatt attended dental school on a four year Army Health Professions Scholarship, receiving his dental degree from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in 1980. Dr. Wyatt served nine years in the United States army where he completed a general practice residency and was twice decorated with the Army Achievement Medal and Army Commendation Medal. He received his orthodontic certificate and Masters Degree from the University of Louisville. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, and the American Dental Association. Dr. Wyatt is a clinical faculty member at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry Department of Orthodontics.His hobbies include jogging, skiing, basketball and biking.
Dr. Tamara Griffin
Dr. Tamara Griffin joined our family in December 2015 performing endodontic services in the Cool Springs office. Dr. Griffin attended University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine then Baylor College of Dentistry where she received a M.S. in Health Professions education and certification in Endodontics. Dr. Griffin also was the Chair of Endodontics at Meharry Medical College as well as faculty member at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry in Memphis, TN.
